Sweet and Sour Meatballs
Simple ingredients come together in flavor. Definite crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Pre ground beef
- 1/4 cup white onion (chopped)
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup skim milk
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic
- Salt
- Pepper
- Italian seasoning (to taste)
- Grape jelly
- Ketchup
- Red pepper flakes (to taste)
- Cilantro (garnish)
- Combine one package of Pre ground beef with 1/4 cup chopped white onion, 1/3 cup breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup milk, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 1 large egg, 3 cloves of garlic, and salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning to taste.
- Using a tablespoon and your hands, roll mixture into balls and arrange in a lightly oiled cast iron skillet. Bake meatballs at 400F for 20-25 minutes.
Sauce - While meatballs are baking, combine equal parts grape jelly and ketchup in a saucepan, add red pepper flakes to taste.
- Stir and bring to a boil, then let simmer until meatballs are done.
- Pour sauce over meatballs in cast iron and save the additional for dipping.
- Garnish with cilantro.
- Serve with toothpicks and enjoy!
