Ginger Sesame Meatballs

Sure, there are homemade sauces, but they certainly don't taste like this. Especially with our lean ground beef.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. Pre ground beef
  • 8 slices bacon (chopped)
  • 2 eggs (lightly beaten)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • ¼ cup grated onion
  • ¼ cup panko bread crumbs
  • ¼ cup cilantro (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp. ginger (grated)
  • salt
  • pepper
Sauce: 
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup soy sauce
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ¼ cup raw honey
  • 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground pepper
  • 2 tbsp. green onion (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seeds
  1. In a bowl, combine all meatball ingredients. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Line two large baking sheets with foil and coat with olive oil.
  3. Form 1 to 1½ inch meatballs and place on the lined baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Broil the meatballs on high for 6-7 minutes until browned, flipping halfway through.
  5. Sauce: Combine sugar, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, white wine vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  6. Place the meatballs in a crockpot, coating with sauce evenly.
  7. Cook the meatballs on low for 3 hours. Mix a couple times to evenly coat with sauce.
  8. Transfer the meatballs to a serving platter and sprinkle with green onion and sesame seeds.
  9. Enjoy!
