Let's be honest; preparing a steak can be a headache! Cooking steak can be messy, stressful, and easy to overcook or undercook. Air frying your steak can solve all of these issues. All you have to do is place the steak into the air fryer and let it cook, which is less messy and easier to correctly time than grilling or pan frying. Like a pan-fried or grilled steak, the air fryer will leave your meat crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! You can cook any of Pre's grass-fed and finished steaks in an air fryer.
Preparing your Steak to Go into the Air Fryer
First, remove your steak from its packaging and pat it dry on both sides. Then, oil both sides of the steak and add salt and spices. Let the piece of steak sit out for ten minutes or until it is room temperature. If there is space, feel free to place multiple pieces of steak, side by side, in your air fryer. Then, turn your air fryer on and preheat it to 400°F.
How long do you cook steak in an Air Fryer?
Each cut of steak varies by width, making it tricky to know how long to keep it in the air fryer. So, we recommend placing the meat into the air fryer for ten minutes for a medium rare steak. Make sure you flip it halfway through. If you like your steaks slightly more cooked, place the steak into the air fryer for twelve minutes. But don't forget to flip it halfway through! Grab your meat thermometer and measure your steak's doneness to ensure it is cooked to perfection! The proper internal meat temperature is vital to a juicy and delicious steak. If you want a rare steak, the internal temperature should be between 120°F-125°F. For medium rare, 125°F-130°F. And lastly, for a medium 135°F-140°F. And for well done, 155°F-160°F.
Why Use an Air Fryer?
First off, air fryers are incredibly easy to clean. When cooking steak on a pan, oil and fat splatter all around, which can be a pain to clean. The air fryer contains all of the splatter within the device. So, for less experienced cooks, the air fryer perfectly crisps the outside of the steak, which is sometimes more difficult to achieve on the pan or grill.
